Accessible Educational/Campus Experience

Inclusivity and Accessibility

At IIIT-Bangalore, inclusivity lies at the heart of our educational ethos. Recognizing the importance of accessibility, we are dedicated to ensuring that individuals with disabilities receive an educational experience that is on par with their peers. Through ongoing collaboration with our partners and advisors, we continually strive to enhance accessibility measures, fostering an environment where all learners can thrive.

At the PGPDPDM program, a group of six students with disabilities is a testament to the commitment towards making education accesible for them. CAGS, in collaboration with the Enable India and WinVinaya engaged in workshops throughout the semester to provide scaffolding to them.

From a pedagogical perspective, a lot of the course content and online platforms remain inaccessible. Responding to the urgent need, CAGS along with a group of volunteers worked with the faculties to ensure effective delivery of course content.

Beyond academics, CAGS Convenor, Prof. Amit Prakash serves as a faculty mentor for Prayas – IIITB’s Disability-Inclusive Club to encourage initiatives to spread awareness around disability and enable inclusive environrments.

Over the course of several months, CAGS has spearheaded efforts towards making campus infrastructuer accessible for people with visual impairment with the installation of tactile markings for indoor navigation.
