The Workshop Series on Tactile Interactivity for People with Visual Impairments was a collaborative effort between CAGS, Microsoft Research India, and the Global Disability Innovation Hub conducted in June 2022. The series aimed to explore the need for and interactions with tactile artifacts for people with visual impairments through projects and evaluations in educational contexts. The series featured speakers from academia and industry, as well as relevant stakeholders and users. The sessions covered various themes including the needs and challenges of tactile interfaces, the use of tactile diagrams in STEM education, and the future of tactile interactivity in art. The series culminated in a white paper that discussed the past, present, and future of tactile interactivity for people with visual impairments.
